Support for LGBTQA+ Community

60% to 80% of LGBTQ+ survivors do not feel able to report incidents to the police or seek advice or protection from services.

Domestic abuse within LGBTQ+ relationships is a significant issue, yet it often remains overlooked or misunderstood. LGBTQ+ domestic abuse can manifest in various forms, including physical, emotional, sexual, financial, and psychological abuse.

Understanding the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ survivors and providing appropriate support is essential in addressing this issue effectively. Barriers to seeking help such as fear of discrimination and lack of understanding from services, or fear of being “outed" to friends and family when you are not ready as well as a lack of available services can make is almost impossible for LGBTQ+ survivors to access help or disclose their abuse.
Your Sanctuary offer support and empowerment to anyone affected by Domestic Abuse. All our services are confidential.
